Lynda Reichley Wright, age 78, died peacefully on January 25, 2019, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Lynda was born in Port Arthur, Texas, and grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. After graduating from Lake Charles High School, she earned a degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Lynda married Preston Howell Wright of Mexia, TX in 1963. Preston and Lynda moved to the Nashville area in 1969. Lynda worked as a dental hygienist in Nashville for 46 years.
Lynda and Preston were married for 55 years and were completely devoted to each other. They raised three children, Garron, Tera, and Shannon. She loved to spend time with her family and was a devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren. Lynda was a light and a joy to all who met her. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.
Lynda was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Henry Catholic Church for 50 years, where she was active in the Nashville Cursillo movement and in St. Henry's RCIA program. She also served as a Eucharist Minister to the sick.
Lynda was preceded in death by parents Daisy and Paul Reichley of Lake Charles, LA, and brother Paul Reichley (Mary) of La Canada, CA. She is survived by her husband, Preston Howell Wright; children Garron Howell Wright (Kim), Tera Taylor Simmons (Sheperd), and Shannon Elizabeth Wright (John); grandchildren Nelson Wright, Brooks Wright, Erin Taylor, Ward Simmons, Audrey Simmons, Preston Clement, Porter Clement, Harper Lee, and Brennen Lee; sister Elizabeth LeBlanc (Clay), brother-in-law Tommy Wright; and niece Lindsey LeBlanc.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 5th from 10a-12p, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Road, Nashville 37205, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 12 noon. There will be a reception at the church after the Mass, with the inurnment following at Harpeth Hills Cemetery.
Lynda's family thanks Dr. Ian Flynn and the wonderful group of doctors and nurses at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, for their tireless care and compassion.
