Lynn Hunsberger Wheeler
"A Celebration of Life"
Lynn Hunsberger Wheeler, 68-years-old, died on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her home in Brentwood, Tennessee. Her love of life, unwavering faith in God, her faithful husband and provider, and the love, prayers, and support of family, care-givers, friends and many supporters carried her through the last 10 years since becoming a quadriplegic from a car wreck on Christmas morning, 2005. Yet even throughout her own struggle with being a quadriplegic, she used the opportunity to tell her story which she always said was an opportunity to tell His story. Those who knew Lynn benefited from her passionate and contagious love for life, God, family, friends and kids ministry. She was a true servant of Christ and earned the names of friend, teacher, coach, choir director, and mentor. Her favorite roles were wife, mom and grandmother.
Lynn was born on February 6, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to David and Evelyn Hunsberger. While attending West Chester University, she met her "boyfriend", Douglas Wheeler. The couple was married on June 1, 1968 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in North Wales, Pennsylvania. While Lynn took on the Wheeler name, Doug learned over the years that he would forever be known as "Lynn's Husband".
Married for 47 years, Lynn and Doug raised their 3 children, Julie, Susan and Jeff in Cleveland, Mississippi. A true woman of faith, her love and passion for life, her relentless strength and determination shaped her family which will forever bind them together. She is the heart of the Wheeler family. "It is well with my soul" she often said after the car wreck clinging to the verse she leaned in to so much, Psalm 139:16 "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Lynn is survived by her husband of 47 years, Douglas Wheeler of Brentwood, TN; their three children, Julie (Will) Mayfield of Brentwood, TN, Susan (Todd) Brown of Fairhope, AL, and Jeff (Wendy) Wheeler of Greensboro, NC; nine grandchildren; Emily, William, Luke and Caleb Mayfield; Mary Evelynn and Isabella Brown; Maddie, Nelson and Lexi Wheeler; and her brother Jim Hunsberger of Germany.
The visitation will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2323 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN on Saturday, December 5, from 9:00-10:45am followed by the service at 11:00am, also at Christ Presbyterian Church.
Memorial donations can be made to:
• Presbyterian Day School, 1100 MS-8, Cleveland, Mississippi 38732

Lynn's legacy will be carried on by the countless lives she touched with her love, laughter and zest for life. She taught us how to live life to the fullest and how to suffer well, bringing glory to God.
