Mae L. Parman of Fairview, Tennessee passed away on September 15, 2019, surrounded by family.

Mae was born in 1930 in Williamson County and grew up on her family's farm there. She had a fierce, lifelong work ethic. She worked in the Nashville office of Dr. John Bond, later shared with his son Dr. John Bond III, for more than forty years before retiring at age 80. She drove herself to Nashville for all those years, in all weather conditions, sometimes embarrassing younger, nearer co-workers.

Mae adored dogs and was proud of their devotion to her. She loved the beach and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her husband, Bob. After his death, she co-founded and served as treasurer for New Beginnings, an organization for older people to travel and socialize together.

She delighted in family and the companionship of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Eula Lankford; her brother Carl Lankford; and her husband Robert B. Parman. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Sisson (Stephen) and Carol Butler (Robert); her son, Steven D. Parman (Elizabeth); five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 -7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 18th in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Memorial gifts may be made to Alive Hospice, Inc. or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
