Marjorie “Margie” Sue Pate, a beloved soul who graced this world with her warmth and kindness, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2024, in Nashville, TN. She was born on April 25, 1943, in Nashville, TN. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Preston and Ida Bell Ballanfant. 

Margie is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years Gayden Pate, children David (Stacey) Pate, Gayla (Allen) Loftis, Tabitha (Nick) Blea, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; sisters Betty Tant, Bobbie (Wayne) Hastings as well as numerous friends and loved ones. 

Margie led a fulfilling life, dedicated to her family and filled with cherished moments. After graduating from Cohn High School, she embarked on a career at Bellsouth before retiring to focus on what truly mattered to her - her family. Known for her unwavering love for her family, children, and grandchildren, Margie's presence brought comfort and joy to all those around her.

Margie's interests were as vibrant as her spirit. She found peace in crafting beautiful creations, tending to her garden with a green thumb that seemed to breathe life into every flower and vegetable. A woman of faith who inspired all who knew her, Margie took joy in watching western movies and college football alongside the love of her life, Gayden. She found beauty in the outdoors and loved watching hummingbirds and butterflies.

Amongst all these joys, she cherished moments spent reconnecting with former classmates from Cohn High School during their ladies' lunch gatherings. Margie's presence was a beacon of light during these occasions.

As we grieve the loss of Margie Sue Pate from our physical world, let us find peace in the memories she gifted us. Her unwavering love continues to guide us through our sorrow as we honor the remarkable life she lived - a life rich in love, faith, and devotion to family. Margie's legacy will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 12:30pm ~ 3:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 3:30pm all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
