Margie Joyce Pedigo

April 29, 1942 — April 4, 2025

Pegram

Margie Joyce was born in Coble, Tennessee on April 29, 1942, to James and Eva Lynn. Her family moved to Nashville where she met the love of her life and husband of 60 years Hansford Pedigo.

Being 16, their parents wouldn’t allow them to get married, so they had an uncle drive them to Kentucky, where they were denied but had a wonderful road trip. They then drove to Carthage, Tennessee, where they were finally able to marry.

They lived in West Nashville until they found heaven on Pond Creek Road in 1965, where for 60 years they lived, farmed, worked, raised children and loved grandchildren. She opened her home to many relatives who lived with them throughout the years, including her father.

Margie loved to cook big meals. She loved her garden, flowers, birds, bingo, shopping - mostly for shoes to add to her extensive collection- and watching Days of our Lives.

She loved her church family, being with family, and watching her grandchildren play ball.

She had a stubborn streak and loved giving orders (that her family knew they better listen to) and shared that trait with her children and grandchildren. She was known as “Mama,” “Granny,” and “The Boss.” On Friday, April 4, 2025, Margie passed away at the age of 82 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Alvie Lynn and Eva Kathleen Lynn, husband, Hansford L. Pedigo, sister, Rita Lynn Mejia, and brother, Jimmy Lynn. Margie is survived by her daughters, Diana Pike Lovell (Darryl) and Teresa K. Harris, sisters, Reba Pearson (Gene), Wilma Shelton (Jerry), grandchildren, J. Nicole (Nick) Dugan, Austin Pike, Jordan (Whitney) Harris, Blake (Courtney) Lovell, Savannah (Austin) Wills, Angela (Michael) Temple, great-grandchildren, Harleigh Ragsdale, Jackson Ragsdale, Bentley Ragsdale, Easton Dugan, Wesley Wills, Lainey Wills, Luke Lovell, Banks Lovell, Landon Temple, Emily Temple, Kelsey Dugan, and Gavin Hendrickson; many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews and special lifelong friends, Wanda, Janice and Sue, and beloved grand dog, Sam.

Visitation for Margie will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., then again on Thursday, April 10th, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until the service time of 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
