Margie Butts Swift (Mimi) age 90 of Nashville TN passed away on January 19,2021. Margie was born on November 6, 1930 to Lurton and Myrtle Butts. She was affectionally known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Mimi.
Margie loved to dance, decorate and play cards. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to play Chinese Checkers and picking out furniture, especially wood pieces.
She served as a Red Cross volunteer. She was a woman of faith with her present membership at Calvary United Methodist as well as an active member of McKendree United Methodist for many years. She also attended the Monday Morning Bible Study led by her special friend Mary Frances Chappell.
Margie is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Bruce Swift, Parents Lurton and Myrtle Butts, brothers Ray Butts & Lurton Butts, sister Virgie Lee Summers. She is survived by daughters Pam (Mel) Duarte, Sheila (Steve) Lloyd, Suzanne (Tommy) Ford, son Chris Swift (Rebecca Dillard) 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family is especially grateful to Dr. David Reyes & Dr. Jeffery Webber, the 4th floor nurses of Centennial, the 2nd floor nurses of Sarah Cannon and the Doctors, nurses and attendants at Alive Hospice.
There will be a private family interment officiated by Rev B.J. Brack. Active pallbearers will be Brian Kidder, Alan Kidder, Matthew Lloyd, Joel Lloyd, Thomas Ford, Jr., Lee Ford, Andrew Ford and Will Swift.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Alive Hospice or the charity of your choice.
