Marie Gillette of Fairview went to be with her heavenly father Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was born June 3, 1947 in Nashville, TN to the late Clarence and Clara Ivey.

Marie was a very outgoing, classy lady that loved to dance. She loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed cooking for them. She loved dolls and fixing her sister's hair, every Friday. Her family remembers her as always taking pride in her appearance when she went out and always having her nails perfectly painted. Marie was a longtime member of Fairview Apostolic church.

She is survived by the father of her children, Guy Gillette; son, Daymon Gillette (Jennifer McTaggart); grandchildren, Dalton Gillette, Allie, Kay, Tallyn, Mariah, and Channel; sister, Dorothy Tucker (Ken); brothers, Donnie Ivey (Patricia), Calvin Ivey (Dorothy Sue), Jimmy Ivey (Savannah), and Lonnie Ivey (Cathy); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 12th and from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13th at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Blakeney officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Gethsemane of Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
