Mark Hortian

May 28, 1951 — March 18, 2025

Nashville, TN

Mark Hortian, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully March 18, 2025 at the age of 73. Originally from Long Island, New York, Mark loved his friends and family there, but he moved his family to Nashville in pursuit of a quieter, more peaceful lifestyle. Mark enjoyed a wide variety of things that life had to offer. He enjoyed sports like soccer and lacrosse and was quite the athlete in his younger years. He loved lighthouses, turtles, and most of all photography. He loved taking pictures and video of life events and activities. He always wanted to create memories for his family. He will live forever in the memory of those who knew him and now through his pictures and videos, his family and friends will always hear his voice and keep his image fresh in our mind. Mark was full of life, his dry, sarcastic sense of humor, dad jokes, and inside jokes always kept people guessing if he was serious or kidding. But, more than anything, he was full of love. For those he knew well and those he didn’t, he would give the shirt off his back to help and do for others.

Mark’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a steadfast and supportive husband to Rosa and a proud, caring father to Stephanie, Joanna, and Veronica. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.

A man of deep integrity and generosity, Mark touched the lives of many with his compassionate heart and genuine spirit. Whether spending time with friends and family, offering support to a friend, or simply enjoying time with his wife, he found joy in life’s simple moments.

Mark leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith. Preceded in death by: his parents, Angelina and Adam Hortian; and survived by his wife, Rosa Hortian, his children Stephanie Seward (Joseph), Joanna Yarbrough (Chris), and Veronica Campbell (Edgar), his grandchildren Jonathan Seward, Sophia Seward, Pyper Yarbrough, Zachary Yarbrough, Edgar M. Campbell, Erik Campbell, and Eli Campbell, and great-grandson Jak Seward. Additionally, Mark is survived by his brother Steven Hortian, niece Christine Figueroa (Angel), and great-nieces Angeline and Ariana Figueroa, as well as many dear friends and extended family members who will forever hold his memory close.
