Martha Smith Chalfont passed away on December 29, 2017 at her home in Franklin, TN. She was born January 28, 1940 in Ardmore, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jackson Smith, Jr. and Aileen Holland Smith; a brother, Mabron Holland Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Frank F. Chalfont; daughter, Lynn Jones (Michael); son, Kenny Graves (Kelly); and Frank Chalfont, Jr. (Leslie); Lisa Hutchison, Chris Chalfont (Kim); grandchildren, Will, Molly and Dale Swift, A.J. Graves and Lauren Yokum, Bailey Chalfont, Ryan, Heath and Ragan Hutchinson; brother, James W. Smith (Betty); sister, Polly Falkenberg (Wayne); three nieces and two nephews.

A graduate of Blanche High School in Blanche, TN, Martha attended Business College in Nashville. She will be remembered enjoying time with her grandchildren, playing golf with friends at the Golf Club of Tennessee, attending Auburn football games, gardening and traveling with her husband Frank.

Martha had two favorite charities. The Ronald McDonald House and the W.O. Smith Community Music School. In lieu of flowers the family requests a memorial donation to either charity. Funeral service and visitation will be Wednesday January 3 at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 1216 Sneed Rd. W. Franklin, TN. Visitation 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN.

A celebration of Martha's life will follow the services on Wednesday at Temple Hills Country Club, 6376 Temple Rd, Franklin, TN 37069.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Anthony Greco and his staff for her special care during 35 years of battling breast cancer.
