TANASE, Martha Allen Marshall – Age 98, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2013. She was living at the Belvedere Commons Assisted Living Center in Franklin, TN. She was born March 11, 1914, the daughter of Charlie and Eva Allen of Spencer, Indiana. She was married to Paul E. Marshall in 1932. He passed away in 1948 and Martha was married to Dr. Chester Tanase in 1951 until his death in August of 2009. Mrs. Tanase moved in to the Belvedere Center in late 2009. She was a bible teacher and taught ladies bible classes in Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. She was a long time member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. In addition to her parents, and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her two sisters and one daughter-in-law. Her youngest son, Paul Marshall, died in September of 2009. Martha is survived by her two sons; Frank Myra Marshall of Franklin, TN and Charlie Judith Marshall of Concord, NC. Mrs. Tanase had three children, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Belvedere Assisted Living Center for their love and care of Mrs. Tanase. A life celebration service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 2p.m. at Harpeth Hills Chapel with Drs. Jerry Winfield and Kenny Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Alive Hospice.
