Mrs. Mary Katherine Donegan, age 77, of Fairview went to be with her heavenly father Tuesday, April 23, 2019. She was born April 11, 1942 in Fairview, TN to the late Wallace and Gertie Overbey. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sterlin Donegan; son, James M. Donegan; and siblings, Patricia Molter, Barbara Deal, Nancy Martin and Paul Overbey.

Mary was a dedicated member of Old New Hope Baptist Church for 20 years, loved reading her Bible and old-fashioned singings. She felt teaching was important and found joy in sharing her life skills and knowledge with all who would listen. Mary loved watching wrestling and has been known to yell at the television on more than one occasion. She was a gardener of both vegetables and flowers and enjoyed sharing both with loved ones. Her canned bread and butter pickles were coveted by many.

Mary is survived by her son, Nelson Donegan; son, Mark Donegan (Shelley); daughter, Myrna Garrett (Phillip); sister, Juanita Buttrey; grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Eden, Chelsea, Drew, and Adam; step-grandchildren, Dwight, Ashley and Tony; and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Friday, April 26th and from 10-11 am Saturday, April 27th at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A life celebration service will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jane Jones Cemetery in Fairview, Tennessee. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Graceworks Ministry in Fairview, Tennessee.
