Mary Jane Emler, 61, passed away on August 25th, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mary was born on November 5th, 1958 in St. Thomas Hospital Nashville, Tennessee. She is survived by her mother Vera Wheat of Nashville, her son Chris Emler of Dallas, TX, her brother David Wheat of San Diego, and many friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her father, Leroy Wheat of Nashville.

Mary was a Tennessee state administrative employee for Disability Determination Services for 39 years. She was a Christian and liked attending church services. Mary's favorite hobbies were shopping and travel. Mary loved planning vacations and was well travelled in the US and Europe. Mary loved taking care of cats. She could light up a room with her smile and was carefree and light-hearted. She always found the good in everyone she met. Mary was an amazing lady who loved life. Her positivity and friendly personality cheered everyone up. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Services will be performed by Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221. Visitation will be Friday, August 28th between 4pm and 8pm and Saturday, August 29th between 1-2 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on August 29th, at 2pm in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Brother Roy Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Atonement of Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
