Mary Louise McKinney, a loving wife and mother, and a true Christian, Southern Lady, passed away at her home on July 14, 2017 at the age of 87.
She was born on December 27, 1929 in Nashville to Edgar W. Cunningham and Lola Elizabeth Dugger Cunningham.
According to her children, Mrs. McKinney was multi-talented. She was equally comfortable quilting and sewing as she was laying a new wood floor, putting up a fence, or tilling and tending a garden.
If she wanted to do something, she simple set her hand to the task and accomplished it. In her later years she loved feeding the birds and squirrels around the house. Her quilting talents are well known as she designed the bicentennial pattern for the Bellevue Methodist Church quilt.
She simply loved her church, her family and her friends and spent her life in service and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: Ann Seaton and Edgar Cunningham, and is survived by her three children: Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Greer, Annette Haines and William Wayne McKinney; 7 grandchildren: Cody McKinney, Nicki Johnson, Samuel "Sparky" Spivey, Grit Greer, Shawn Greer, Rusty Greer and Cerena Albright; and 10 great-grandchildren: Grace Ann Johnson, Kylie Clark Spivey, Madelyn Ruth Spivey, Samuel Liam Spivey, Josie Belle Greer, Audrey Dell Greer, Austin Greer, Andrew Warden Greer, Seth Albright and Austin Albright.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 15 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. There will be no prior visitation.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to CARIS Hospice.
