MERCER, Mary Jewel Tant, age 100. Passed away October 14, 2012. She lived her life to the fullest and never met a stranger. She touched so many lives with her humor and zest for life, and positive attitude. She was the most beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and the rock of her family. She will be sadly missed by so many. She loved her church family and enjoyed attending church. Her precious Chi Chi will miss her. She is retired from Bell South, the only job she ever had. She loved to play cards and laugh and joke. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Tant and her second husband, Paul Mercer. Survived by daughter, Paula Fleming Ralph; grandsons, Paul Fleming, Wade Fleming; great-grandson, Davis Fleming; great-granddaughter, Jessica Fleming; several nieces and nephews; stepson, Howard Mercer Frieda; beloved dog, Chi Chi. The service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Bro. Clifford Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME 6962 Charlotte Pike
