Mary Ann Rivers, 85, passed away on Feb. 12, 2014.
She was born in Wilmington, DE, on Nov. 15, 1928 to David and Gladys Smith. She attended the University of Alabama and lived most of her adult life in the Washington, D.C., metro area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Rivers, and brother James Smith.
She is survived by her sons, George Jr. (and wife Diane) and David Rivers (and wife Kathy); daughters, Georgianna Meeker and Jennifer Miller (and husband John); niece Belinda Redd and family; Phil Meeker; and grandchildren Caroline, Isaac, Jacob, and Annalee.
The family wishes to express special thanks to friends Veluxsa Scott and Regina Haggard for their loving and attentive care, as well as the staffs of the Healthcare Center at Richland Place, Lakeshore-The Meadows, and Alive Hospice.
Memorial services will be conducted by Chaplain Allen Withers on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m., at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy. 100, (615) 646-9292.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice.
