Mary Ann Adkins, age 76, of Pegram, TN, passed peacefully on December 10, 2021 at the home of her son in Nashville. She was surrounded by her loving family and loyal dog as she went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Mary was born in Nashville, TN on August 9, 1945, and was raised in a big family of three sisters and two brothers. She was the daughter of the late Jack Jackson and Myrtle Eakes.
Mary served as a technician for BellSouth for over 35 years and made many friendships along the way. After retirement, she worked as a caregiver, which fit her perfectly since she devoted her life to taking care of others. She also spent countless hours taking care of her two grandchildren, Madison and Brinley.
Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was a loving, kind, selfless woman with a heart for serving others. She was a joyful child of God and a longtime member of Bellshire Assembly of God, where she put on numerous Christmas and Easter plays, and served in the choir. Mary had many loves in life, including dancing, gardening, cooking, playing cards with friends, hosting yard sales, and most of all, spending time with family. She was always the life of the party! Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, which she hosted at her house for over thirty years. She loved family above all, and buying things for others was her specialty, wanting nothing in return.
Mary was most proud of her son, Jason, who blessed her with two beautiful grandchildren whom she loved more than anything. She loved spending time with them, and they always brought a smile to her face, even after a long day of treatments.
Mary is survived by her son, Jason Adkins (Erica); granddaughters, Madison and Brinley Adkins; sisters, Jackie Bush, Lucille Raines and Lisa Connolly; brothers, Howard Jackson (J.J.) and Bud Eakes (Melinda); nieces, Crystal Silvera (Brandon), Tiffany Billington (Rich), and Tabitha
New (Collin); several nephews and nieces, extended family, and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 16 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Highway 100 from 4:00-8:00 PM, and again on Friday, December 17 from 12:00-1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial in the Garden of Peace at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Baptist Church Bellevue.
