Matthew Scott Jackson (Scott), a resident of White Bluff, TN, passed away on August 28, 2024, after an extended illness.
Scott grew up in Pegram, TN, and graduated in 1996 from Harpeth High School. He attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville for two years prior to entering the workforce. As a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, he developed many lifelong friendships. Scott most recently worked at Stewart Builder Supply.
In both his work and personal life, Scott enriched many lives along the way with his caring and understanding of people. He loved being with family and trips to the beach.
Scott met the love of his life, Erin Baker, in 2006, and they married in August 2007. They celebrated their 17th anniversary just three days before he passed. They built their dream home in White Bluff several years ago and enjoyed the country life along with their two dogs.
He is survived by his wife Erin; parents Gary and Debbie Jackson; brother Keith (Misty) Jackson and their daughter Danielle (Cody) Pardue and grandson Everett Jackson; brother Phillip (Brittani) Jackson and their children Presley Kate and Mason; his aunts Elaine Davis and Vanessa Hirshbrunner and uncle Aubrey (Nancy) Jackson; along with many loving cousins and family friends. Scott is also survived by his brother-in-law Lee (Jamie) Baker and their children Calvin, Kaylee, Lincoln and Elizabeth; his father-in-law Gary (Ann) Baker of Marysville, MT, and his mother-in-law Kay (Scott) Haight of Billings, MT.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Lucille Davis and Emmitt and Vertrease Jackson; his aunt Phyllis Jackson, and his uncle Mike and aunt Tammy Davis.
In lieu of funeral services, Scott asked that a Celebration of Life be held for friends and family to gather and remember the times spent together with him, and to share the memories with fellowship and laughter.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Rutledge West in Pegram, TN, from 2:00 to 6:00, allowing everyone to "come when you can." Children are very welcome. From 4:00 to 5:00, a sharing hour will take place, and anyone who wishes to share a special memory of Scott can do so.
Scott's entire family deeply appreciates everyone who has reached out to them. All the kindness and support has been a great comfort. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that acts of kindness be paid forward in whatever direction that God leads you.
