Matthew James Zyla, age 16, passed away May 16, 2017 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

A native of Dearborn, MI, Matthew was the son of Jacqui Zyla and Steve Rozenboom.

He will be remembered as a loyal friend to those he loved, big hearted and caring to those in need and just a bit vain in always wanting his hair to be perfect.

Matthew was known as a class clown in elementary school, and you knew he was near when you heard his infectious laugh. His laughter immediately brought a smile to those around him also causing them to begin laughing.

In his free time he enjoyed football, basketball and video games.

His passion and joy for life will be among the many attributes that will be celebrated on Friday, May 19 at 10:30 at the Antioch Church of Christ. His family will receive visitors following the service.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by three brothers: Brandon Zyla, Dylan Rozenboom and Jordan Rozenboom; maternal grandmother: Linda Johnson; paternal grandparents: Dave & Jan Rozenboom maternal grandfather: Dan Cunningham; and his great-grandfather: "Grandpa" Johnson.
