Michael Shane McKenzie, 34, of Gallatin, TN passed away July 4, 2012. Shane was born March 4, 1978 in Nashville, TN. He graduated Hendersonville H.S. 1997. Shane was an avid golfer, had a passion for animals and took great pride in his work with the McKenzie family businesses. He relished the friendships he developed over the 10 years he devoted to his work there. He was a caring and loving uncle to his niece, and his four nephews. Shane is survived by his parents, David and Beverly, Gallatin, his brothers, Chad, Nashville, Josh and wife Tiffany, Gallatin, maternal grandparents, Rev. Felix and Lorraine Snell, Gallatin, four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents David McKenzie Sr. and J.R. and Faye West, all of Cleveland, TN. Arrangements are handled by Hendersonville Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday, July 6, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Gallatin First United Methodist Church, 1:00 P.M., Saturday July 7, 2012, with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. The service will be officiated by Rev. Felix Snell and Dr. Ted Hill, with interment following at the Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory may be made to The Salvus Center.
