Michael “Mike” Ray Perkins, Sr. passed away on June 25, 2023, in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 69. Mike was born on January 29, 1954, to the late JB and Laura Perkins. He was a graduate of Cohn High School and went on to attend Belmont University.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, JB and Laura Perkins, and his brother, John Bauman, Jr.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 49 and a half years, Judy Perkins; his seven children: Dana (Bon) Ku, Michael (Missy) Perkins, Ryan (Tandy) Perkins, Chad (Andrea) Perkins, Julie Guerrant, Emily (Kellie) Perkins, Allison (Matas Sidrys) Perkins; grandchildren: Madelyn Ku, Morgan Ku, Mallory Ku, Reese Perkins, Layla Perkins, RJ Perkins, Clay Perkins, Alex Bowling, Presley Bowling, Carson Guerrant, Caden Guerrant, Cannon Guerrant, and Callyn Guerrant; and a great-grandchild, Kailand Turner; sisters, Faye Perry, Barbara Williams, Brenda Bradford as well as several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Mike was an exceptional athlete who played baseball in high school and at Belmont University after graduation. His love for baseball was evident throughout his life as he played professionally for various MLB teams before returning to Nashville to work at the Ford Glass Company for over three decades.

Mike’s proudest achievements involve his dedication to his seven children. He was always there to support them in their sports activities. As a father, he attended numerous family involved sports events and even coached.

In his personal life, Mike was known for always "wheeling and dealing" and looking for a bargain. He had an infectious personality that drew people towards him. His presence will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Mike had many passions that kept him busy throughout his life. Among these passions were spending time with his family, cutting grass, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle especially on Christmas Eve in his Santa suit. One of his favorite vacation destinations for over 25 years was Panama City Beach where he loved every moment spent with the family.

Mike’s family will receive friends at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden Funeral Home on June 29, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on June 30, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life at 10:00 am with the burial to follow.

Mike devoted himself to spending quality time with family. He set an example by showing unconditional love to everyone around him and leaving behind fond memories that will be cherished by many for years to come. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
