Michael Dale Moody, Sr., age 61, of Franklin, TN, passed peacefully on August 9, 2020, at his lake home in Waverly, TN, his favorite place on earth. He was a graduate of Battle Ground Academy. Mike was a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of Hiram No.7 Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He began his working career while in his teen's at Moody's Tire, founded as Moody's Quality Recappers by his late Uncles Tom and Ed Moody. He went on to become a co-owner and later to start his own business, Moody's Gradeworks in Franklin. His compassion, selflessness, generosity, work ethic and lifelong dedication to the Franklin Community were recognized by all who knew him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents James Moody, Sr and Betty Hows Moody. He is survived by sons Michael Dale Moody, Jr. (Katie) and Vincson Scott Moody, grandchildren Michael Blake Moody and Lexie Mae Moody, loving companion Christy Langford, siblings Suzanne Moody Thomas, James Moody, Jr. and Stephen Moody, multiple nieces and nephews and a host of devoted and loving family and friends.
A private family service will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Bryan Brooks and Vona Wilson officiating. Services to celebrate Mike's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Shriners Hospitals for Children, The Shrine Burn Center or a charity of the donor's choice.
