Michael Rasmussen

Michael D. Rasmussen, age 61 resident of Fairview, Tennessee, passed peacefully at home. Surrounded by family and special friends on December 10, 2024, after a lengthy illness. 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Della Rasmussen and father in law Charles William (Pedro) Bell

Mike was born in Norfolk, Virginia and grew up in Aurora, Colorado, before moving to Nashville, Tennessee where he met his wife of thirty two years, Lorie Bell Rasmussen. 

Mike and Lorie lived in Fairview, Tennessee where they raised two beautiful children. 

Mike was employed by Clopay/Berry Global for thirty four years, as a maintenance/ facility manager. He was also a skilled master electrician. 

Mike loved golf, good music, a Saturday morning yard sale, a random practical joke, and traveling back to his Rocky Mountain roots. More than anything Mike loved the Lord, his family, and friends. 

He was husband to Lorie, Dad to Rainy and Cade, and his favorite title of all was “Buzz”, to his granddaughter Laney. 

Mike’s absence is deeply felt by those who loved him. He leaves behind a wife Lorie, daughter Rainy (Patrick) Shoaff, son Cade Rasmussen, granddaughter Lane Shoaff, Sister, Wendy (Mark) Sondegroth, Brothers John (Lisa) Rasmussen, Russell Rasmussen, Robert Rasmussen, Sister/Bother in law Dana and Jamie Moulton, Brother in law Richie Head, Mother/Father in law Carolyn and Jim McWilliams, Uncle Raymond Allbert, Aunt Linda Whaley, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. 

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Mike Rasmussen will be planned for a later date.
