Died on September 26, 2018, at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital at the tender age of 5.

Mikayla was born on April 8, 2013, to her parents Graham Fletcher Honeycutt and Heather Yopp Honeycutt. Diagnosed with a congenital brain malformation called Dandy-Walker Syndrome in utero, she was delivered early for shunt surgery to relieve the fluid buildup in her brain. She was baptized when she was only hours old with holy sterile water before her surgery, which would be one of several surgeries throughout her lifetime.

Born with a host of challenges, Mikayla was a sweet soul who inspired many with her bravery, courage, perseverance, and eternal joy. Mikayla had a special way of reminding those around her of what is most important in life. Some of Mikayla's favorite things were playtime with daddy, running in races with mommy, swimming and aqua therapy, playing with shiny toys and mirrors in her bed, finding clever ways to avoid the craziness of her younger sisters, and getting out of her clothes and the straps of her adaptive equipment.

Mikayla is survived by her parents Graham and Heather; her sisters Ainsley, Hailey, and Caroline; her maternal grandparents, Mike and Alice Yopp; and her paternal grandparents, Ken and Georganne Honeycutt.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, there is a visitation at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Franklin, Tennessee, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
