Moira Shiels, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away December 7, 2024 in Seattle, Washington. She was born on October 4, 1990 in Washington DC. She is proceeded in death by her father Dr. William E. Shiels II, Grandparents Richard and Marjorie DuBrul Shiels and Charles and Claire Hand Rabolli; aunt Martha Shiels Summa and cousins Abrahm Bare and Thomas Eagen. She is survived by her mother Donna (Rabolli) Shiels, sister Courtney (Shiels) Grieco, brother-in-law Jason Grieco, and nieces Sloane and Layla Grieco. She graduated Summa Cum Lauda with both her Bachelors Degree from Loyola University Chicago and Masters Degree from Northwestern University. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society (ΦΒΚ), the oldest academic honor society in the United States. Her compassion for others and desire to help people led her to her career as a therapist.
Funeral mass will be at 11 am on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Franklin, TN. Burial will be held at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center in Nashville on January 18, 2025, beginning at 12:30 PM. Following this, all who knew and loved her are invited to celebrate her life at The Pavilion at Harpeth from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Though she may have departed this world, the imprint of her big hearted kindness to all she met, love of animals, and brilliant mind will forever be in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed.
