Muriel George, 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5th 2014.
Muriel was born on June 29th 1915 in San Francisco California, to Victor and Mable Klinker.
She was a graduate of Miss Burke's School for Girls class of 1933, San Francisco, CA and attended Stanford University. She enjoyed a lifetime of horse related activities including showing Quarter Horses, Morgan Horses and American Saddlebreds. While riding in Golden Gate Park she met her husband R.C. George, together they showed and traveled all across the states showing horses. Muriel wrote for the horse magazine Horse World, and traveled from her home in Woodside, California covering horse shows from Washington state to Arizona.
She followed her daughter to live in Tennessee and on to Lexington. KY, which she called home for over 30 years. Muriel's great passion was cooking and entertaining for her many friends from coast to coast. She is survived by her only child Tory George Vick and "favorite" son in law Dwayne Vick of Nashville, TN. A life celebration will be conducted in Lexington, KY this spring. www.harpethhills.com
