Norman Douglas Milligan passed away peacefully April 2, 2024, in Alive Hospice of Nashville, TN. He was born April 10, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee to Soloman Lee Milligan and Olive Ophelia Bates Milligan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Vance Milligan; and one sister, Beverly Ruth Milligan Tappan.
He is survived by one son, Marshall Douglas Milligan; life partner, Kathy June Jones Hargrave; one sister, Mary Lynn Milligan Day; one sister-in-law, Joyce Cunningham Milligan, and other treasured family members and friends.
Doug graduated from Cohn High School in 1967 and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1972. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force as a physician's assistant. He was a real estate broker for 40 years, worked for the city of Nashville as a Metro Government Finance Purchasing Officer for 23 years, and was a sheriff's deputy for 3 and a half years. He played the drums, guitar, harmonica, conga, and was an avid piano player. He was a lifelong boater, as well as a motorcyclist and an amateur pilot.
