As a young girl, Odell lived on a farm where she had pet chickens and a cow named Sophie. She had her first garden and flower bed at age 5. Her love for animals and flowers continued throughout her life. Her family moved to West Nashville in 1942. She met the love of her life, Howard Spray, in February 1947 after he returned from the South Pacific in WWII. He asked her to marry him on a beautiful day in April 1947. They eloped and were married in Franklin, KY on July 5, 1947. They raised their children and loved to spoil their grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies including attending Lions Club Meetings, bowling, quilting, gardening and listening to the old Country Music. She was baptized in the Harpeth River in her younger years and her faith was strong. Her love, Howard, passed away in 1989 and she has missed him dearly. She joined him in Heaven on January 6, 2020 to begin her eternal life.
The family would like to thank The Meadows Staff and Caris Hospice Nurses for loving and caring for her while in their care. The tenderness of the Meadows Staff to the family provided comfort during this difficult time in which we are so grateful.
