Opal Christine Wilkins

Opal Christine Wilkins, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2024, in Nashville, TN. She was born on June 3, 1935, in Hickman, TN. Opal was known for her outgoing nature, her knack for striking up conversations with anyone she met, and her compassion and caring demeanor. She was a devoted Christian whose faith shone brightly through her actions and words.

Preceded in death by husband of 44 years Gene Wilkins; daughter Cheryl Hooten and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter Christy (Charles) Botts; grandchildren Jacob Botts, Cadye Hooten, Dylan Hooten; great grandchildren Kayle Anglin, Samantha Anglin, Chloe Alwine, Isaac Botts; sister Betty Sue Bates; son in law Steve Hooten as well numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Among her many interests was her love for flowers and plants. Shopping and browsing for jewelry brought her immense pleasure, but it was the company of people that truly filled her heart. In quieter moments, Opal could be found sewing or crocheting, pouring her creativity into every stitch. Opal also found peace in the mountains and loved traveling to Gatlinburg.  

Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12:00pm~ 1:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm at Inglewood Baptist Church 3901 Gallatin Pike Nashville TN 37216. The burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens 9090 Highway 100 Nashville TN 37221.

In honoring Opal's memory, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion towards others. May she rest in peace knowing she made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
