Patricia Swift Cary, age 72 of Brentwood, TN went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
Pat was born on February 11, 1946 in Nashville, TN. She grew up in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of the late Harold "Slim" & Frances Swift. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, James Edison "Ed" Cary. She graduated from West High School in 1964, Middle Tennessee State University in 1968 and George Peabody College for Teachers in 1970. She was a school teacher in Metro Nashville Public Schools for 31 years. Pat was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society for 13 years where she was First Vice President for 4 years. She was also a long time member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Class. She loved her Lord, her family, her friends, her country, and she had such a zest for life. Her schedule was always busy with activities. One of the best scriptures we feel to describe Pat is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Survivors include her loving sons, Bill Cary (Emily); Jim Cary (Dana); grandchildren, Walker, Avery, and Abbie.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Pat's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm. Active Pallbearers are Bill Cary, Jim Cary, Brad Davis, Dan Barnett, Michael Swift, Phillip Trella and Leon Stribling. Honorary Pallbearers are Ruth Bible Class, Hank Hillin, Walker Cary, Bob Clement, Gary Castleman, Joe Daws & Larry Lawrence,
