Patricia Ross Warren Denney, Age 87. Passed away peacefully June 18, 2020. Preceded in death by her husband Hugh Denney, D.V.M. Survived by sons Hugh Warren Denney (Tomi Lunsford), Thomas Wade Denney (Jeanine); daughter Suzanne Denney Howell; grandchildren Julia Suzanne Denney Styles (Stuart), Patricia Jean Denney Pena (Luis), Thomas Blake Howell, Samuel Clay Howell (Holly), Warren Grant Howell; nephews Robert Ross Warren (Stephanie), James Randolph Hill, David Brian Hill (Dorothy), Francis Scott Denney (Cloris), Lowell Alan Denney, Lane Thomas Denney; nieces Alana Marie Denney (John Thomas), Margaret Diane Warren Chambers (Russell), Teresa Jo McKinney; and many dear in-laws and friends. She was also preceded in death by nephews Richard Lawrence Warren, Michael Wayne McKinney, and niece Pamela Beth Denney.

Born February 6, 1933, Mrs. Denney was a wife, mother, working mom, and homemaker. She was a member of the Bellevue Church of Christ, the Greenbrier Historical Society, and a member and past president of the Tennessee Veterinary Wives Association. She was a graduate of Tennessee Tech, Class of 1954, and later worked as a nutritionist and lab manager at Auburn University. She worked on behalf of several charities over the years, and most recently helped found and organize the Warm Coats Drive at the St. Paul Community in Nashville, where she lived.

She was the daughter of Samuel Lawrence Warren and Margaret Ross Stacker Warren, and sister to Samuel Lawrence Warren, Jr., and Sue Taylor Warren Hill, all deceased.

She was a gentle, sweet-spirited woman with a deep and greatly appreciated sense of humor. She was, at once, a beauty queen, wife, mother, veterinary assistant, bookkeeper, friend, confidant, and teacher. She centered her life on family, faith, and friends, and knew few strangers. She was a longtime Nashville resident who embraced the whole city, and a proud descendant of Samuel Stacker, who built the first iron bridge across the Cumberland River here in 1823. She considered her greatest accomplishments in life as raising her family, supporting that family when her husband attended veterinary school, and helping to establish his longtime practice in Nashville.

Service and interment Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens, Saturday, June 20. Active pallbearers will be Scott Denney, Blake Howell, Clay Howell, Grant Howell, Stuart Styles, and Luis Pena. Arrangements by Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
