Patricia Josephine Madden (Patty Jo), age 73, departed this life on April 10, 2024 at her Group Home in Lebanon, TN. Patricia was born in Los Angeles, California on July 27, 1950. She was the second daughter and third child of Edward M. Cate, Jr. and Mary Byrne Cate. She grew up in Tulare, California attending St. Aloysius Parochial School, San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California and was a graduate of College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California and Galen College of Medical and Dental Assistants in Fresno, California.
Patricia joined the United States Army in 1973 as a Dental Specialist and served in Frankfurt, Germany. She received an honorable discharge in 1976 and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. While in the service she met John Edward Madden and they were married on September 11, 1976 in Tulare, California. While in Germany Patty and John were able to tour and enjoy much of Europe.
Patricia is predeceased by her parents, her husband, John Madden, her brother, Michael Cate and her brother-in-law, Wayne Caballero.
Patricia is survived by her siblings, Kevin Cate (Kathleen) of San Diego, California, Kathleen Roselli (Robert) of Nashville, TN, Timothy Cate (Sue) of Ashland, Oregon, Maureen Caballero of Anaheim, California, Sean Cate (Janet) of Lake Frederick, Virginia, and Matthew Cate of Posey, California, and sister-in-law, Joanne Dong Cate of Vallejo, California. Patricia is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family extends our deep gratitude to the VA facilities in Murfreesboro and Nashville and to 2nd Chances Group Home for their care of Patricia.
The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 10:00am in the chapel at St. Henry Catholic Church 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN. 37205
