Patricia Shaughnessy

Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 31, 1934

Departed on February 9, 2019 and resided in Nashville, Tennessee

(nee Houlihan) passed away peacefully February 9, following an extended illness. She was 84.
The loving wife of Robert Henry Shaughnessy for 58 years, she was a homemaker and worked in retail sales for many years. A real firecracker, she brought enthusiasm and passion to everybody and everything she touched.
She is survived by her husband, sons Robert (Susan), of Washington, DC; Thomas, of Nashville; and Christopher, of Lexington, KY; brother John Houlihan, of Chicago, IL, and sister Mary Ellen Horrell, of Dunedin, FL. She is also survived by grandchildren Emma Shaughnessy, and Henry Shaughnessy, both of Washington, DC; and Maximilian Shaughnessy, of Richmond, KY; niece Kathleen Spayer, of Sugar Grove, IL, and nephew David Horrell, of Brentwood; and three great-granddaughters. She is further survived by very precious friends the DeMille family, of Nashville, and the Von Mann family, of Richmond, KY.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Franklin, 9:30-11 a.m., February 15, followed by the funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to St. Matthew Catholic Church."
