Paula Russell, a beacon of beauty and strength, departed this world on March 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will echo in the hearts of all who knew her. Born on November 2, 1951, in the landscape of Twentynine Palms, California, Paula embodied a spirit that was both loving and spiritual, radiating warmth to friends and family alike.
Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Claris Wadholm; siblings, Paula Wadholm Russell, Dell Wadholm, and Ernie Wadholm.
Paula is survived by her children, Michael Russell, Daniel Russell, and Denna Russel; grandchildren, Courtney, McKinzie, Faith, Danny, and Christian; brother, Johnnie Wadholm; as well as cousin, Kate Hamm
A devoted mother and grandmother, Paula cherished her children and grandchildren with a love that was as vibrant as the roses she tended to in her garden. Her nurturing presence created a sanctuary for her family, where laughter flourished and memories were made together, creating a tapestry of joy.
Paula's passions were varied, as were her interests. She held a profound love for angels, filling her home with collections that symbolized hope and guidance. Her son, Daniel, got her a new angel every year for Christmas. Her fascination with her ancestral Norwegian Viking history drew her into the pages of those books. Paula often dreamed of visiting Scotland and Norway, places that echoed in her heart, where she longed to connect with her roots more deeply.
Her connection to nature was also reflected in her affection for roses, as well as hummingbirds that flew through her garden. There was joy in the simple act of watering each rose in her garden.
As an individual, Paula was remarkable in her kindness and strength, radiating a warmth that made others feel cherished and valued. Her kind-hearted spirit served as an inspiration to many, encouraging them to embrace life with love and compassion.
Though we mourn the loss Paula, we are reminded of the love she so freely gave to her children, grandchildren, and the rest of her family and friends. Paula will be deeply missed.
