Age 87, died peacefully at home on February 3. She was born in Mayfield, KY to the late Rev. Jesse Hugh Wells and Katie Mae Creason. Peggy shared her faith openly and generously and had a gift for making everyone feel special. She never met a stranger and loved you wherever you were along life's journey. She and her husband Newton MacLeod were members of West End Methodist Church and Word of Faith. Graduating from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, she started her career as a bridal consultant with Rich-Schwartz and worked in cosmetics at Castner's. She was a member of Families In Touch, Singing Hills Garden Club and volunteered for her church pre-school and National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI).
But Peggy's greatest love was her family, including her "rock" and life-partner Newt, her loving children Bruce and Kathy Kluemper (Tom) and her beloved sister Malinda Wells Anderson (John). Her greatest joys were her grandchildren Chase (Jennifer), Alex (Brooke) and Lauren Kluemper. She is also survived by Malinda's children whom she loved as her own, Neil Anderson (Missy), Hugh Anderson (Katy) and Katy Anderson Sheesley (Ken) and all their wonderful children.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Her Life at 2:00 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or NAMI. Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville (615) 646-9292 www.harpethhills.com
