Peggy Smothers

Departed on March 20, 2017 and resided in Nashville, TN

Peggy Jean Ferguson Smothers joyfully met her Lord God in Heaven, March 20, 2017. Her joy and anticipation of drawing "closer to the Lord" in her last days inspired those who loved her. A retired nurse of VA Hosptial, this loving wife and mother of four gave of herself, her time, and her energies to her family and her community.

She is today at the feet of her Savior because of the saving grace of Christ. She is also reuniting with many beloveds, including her husband Forrest Ferguson, her sister and brother Helen Clifton and Maylon Turner, her husband, Autra Smothers, her two sons, Douglas Ferguson and Todd Ferguson, and her mother and father George Turner and Era (Cooper) Turner. She is survived by her sons George and Keith Ferguson, her daughter-in-law Lori Ferguson, her grandchildren Elliott Ferguson, Andrea Wandell, Leilani Jones, and Daniel Ferguson, and 6 great grandchildren, all a heritage from the Lord.

The Godly heritage she deposited brings us joy and peace. This is her crown and reward! To miss her and mourn her loss is our blessing and privilege from knowing and loving her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Bellevue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 24 at 11:00 AM. Following a luncheon together at the church, she will be laid to rest at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at 2:00 PM.
