Peter Toth was born on May 27th, 1950 in Pontiac, Michigan to Stephan Toth and Domnica Mariutza Toth. Peter passed away on October 29th, 2024. He was the 3rd of 5 brothers and graduated from Avondale High School in 1968, where he also won the science fair and played the tuba. Peter was a member of his high school band and was in the brass ensemble with his friends called "Just Brass."
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Toth; children, Christine (Jeff) Warner of Kodak, TN, and Rebecca (Andy) Collins of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Titus Collins and Levi Collins of Murfreesboro, TN.
Peter enlisted in the Navy where he was involved in Naval Aviation and flying off of carriers on S2 Trackers. He was a radar/sonar operator and a First Class Petty Officer. He was stationed in Rhode Island and California.
Peter met Patricia in San Diego in August of 1971. He came to salvation in Jesus Christ in 1973 and was baptized with his fiance at the time, Pat, in October of 1974 at Dixie Baptist Church. Peter and Patricia were married on January 10th, 1975.
Peter attended General Motors Trade School and graduated as a machine repairman and metal model maker. He graduated from Oakland Community College in Industrial Technology. He worked for General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan for 30 years and even had his name on a patent. He moved to Franklin, Tennessee in 1998, where his last job was a Veterans Employment Representative for the State of Tennessee.
Peter was a Sunday School teacher at his church as well as a member of the Bible Study Fellowship for 33 years, where he was a children's leader and group leader. He was involved with Room in the Inn and First Friends with international students at Vanderbilt University for 25 years. He was also involved in the prison ministry. He was on the board of Interface Ministries and The Oak Cottage for Women, which was a prison transition house. He was a deacon at several baptist churches. Peter found joy in playing "Yo Yo the Clown" on a Ukraine Orphanage Mission Trip.
Peter enriched his life with traveling, having been to 44 countries, electronics, classic radios, Ham radio, weather spotting, air craft of all sorts, science projects with his daughters and grandsons, camping, and other outdoor activities.
His life verse was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path."
