Raymond Manganelli

Raymond L. Manganelli passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025

Ray was born on June 1, 1949 to Raymond and Filomena (Rotolo) Manganelli in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Ray attended Bender Memorial Academy and Roselle Catholic High School before graduating from Rutgers University. He also earned a Masters of Arts degree from Middlebury College, and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. 

Ray worked as a management consultant for most of his career, traveling extensively both domestically and internationally. For more than 12 years he has taught in the MBA program of Molloy University of Long Island, New York, and Mercy University in New York City. 

Ray was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and the Columbia University football team. Keeping score at CYO basketball games and organizing mini golf tournaments during summers on Long Beach Island were among his favorite activities with his sons and their friends. 

Ray is survived by Cathy, his wife of 52 years; children Thomas (Jessica); Christopher; grandchildren, Raelyn and Jackson Manganelli; sister Alida Karas-Perret (Tommy); brother-in-law Douglas Augenthaler (Nancy); sister-in-law Susan O’Brien (William); sister-in-law Kristine Stoker; sister-in-law Mary Pat Garate (Lou) as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Ray is predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law James Augenthaler. 

Ray will be remembered with love and affection at a memorial Mass held in the spring of 2025 in Franklin, Tennessee for family and friends who are able to attend. Details will be provided at a later date. 

Burial will be private.
