Rebecca "Becky" Goree was born August 24, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jimmy and Ginger Sandifer. She graduated from David Lipscomb College in 1966. She married Gordon Simpson Brewer, Jr., in 1965. Together they had three children: Steve, Mimi, and Jan. Gordon died in 2002. Becky married Bill Goree in 2003.

Becky's main emphasis was faith and family. She was an accomplished seamstress making clothes for her family and their dolls, quilting, and smocking. Her work was precise and meticulous with nothing but perfection desired.

She was also an accomplished gardener keeping the flowers of River Plantation Section 8 glorious for the residents.
Her working life was with Dillards where she served primarily in the cosmetics department.

Survivors include her husband Bill Goree, children Stephen Michael Brewer with Lea Ann and sons Zach and Alex, Leigh Michelle "Mimi" Williams with husband Michael and sons Tyler and Clayton, daughter Jan Upchurch with husband Todd and daughters Katie and Kailyn, and brother Steve and wife Jo Sandifer. Also surviving her are step-children Kay Walker and husband Tim with sons William and David, and Anna Goree with children Leanne and Michael. Stepson Keith Goree predeceased her.

Becky will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at West End Church of Christ on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 1 p.m.
