Elmer Reece Tidwell passed away on March 29, 2022. He is the son of the late Jerome and Oma McCord Tidwell. Also preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford Jay, Lawrence Wilson and Cordis Gaye Tidwell.
Reece was born on a farm in Bon Aqua Tennessee, in Hickman County on February 5, 1943. He attended high school at West High (now Fairview High) and graduated in 1962. This is where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Mai Jones. After high school, they dated a couple of years and married on February 20, 1964, at the Fairview Church of Christ.
He worked at a few different jobs and in 1973, he started working for a garage door company. He continued this work and started his own business in 1977. He stayed in this business until he had to retire with rheumatoid arthritis in 1996. After having to retire from that line of work. He helped his brother-in-law (part time) at the Fairview carwash for about 20 years.
Reece is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Tidwell and several nieces and nephews.
There will be visitation Friday, April 1, 2022 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturday, April 2, from 1:30pm – 2:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 2:30pm and burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
