Reed Gooch, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, was born on May 8, 1948, in Parsons, Tennessee. He peacefully departed from this world on January 7, 2025, in Nashville.
Reed's journey was marked by an unwavering passion for life and the great outdoors. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, a dedicated deer hunter, and an enthusiastic sports lover, both as a player and a devoted fan. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his knack for cutting up with people, bringing joy and laughter. Reed had a unique way of making those around him feel special and appreciated.
He graduated from the first graduating class of Riverside High School in Parsons, TN, setting the foundation for a life filled with adventure and hard work. Reed spent his career as a printing press repair operator at Taylor Impressions.
Reed was deeply rooted in his faith as a lifelong member of the Parsons Church of Christ, where he was first baptized.
Reed's love story with his wife, Rose Gooch, spanned an extraordinary 57 years. Together, they built a life filled with joy, support, and shared dreams. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and companionship that can weather any storm. Reed is also survived by his brother, Vernon Larry (Frances) Gooch; his sister-in-law, Pauletta Dabbs; his brother-in-law, Pat Dabbs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones all of whom were touched by his kind spirit and generous heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.T. and Ruth Gooch.
Visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2025 from 9:30am ~ 11:30am with a Celebration of Life at 11:30am and the burial to follow all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221.
Reed will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a true outdoors man, and a loving partner. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived, one full of adventure, kindness, and unwavering love.
