Age 69, of Nashville, TN, died peacefully on June 16, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by father Perry L. Brock, Jr., grandparents Luther and Lena Brock of Chattanooga, TN and Louis and Sadie Holloway of Rugby, TN. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darla Brock, son David Erin Brock, Jr. daughter Jennifer Brock Judkins, five grandchildren - Dylan Brock and Declan Truscott-Brock of Toronto, Ontario Canada; Ashlee, Jessica and Merisa Judkins of Nashville, TN; mother Patricia Holloway Brock and sister Sharon Brock Anderson of Chattanooga, TN and mother-in-law Mary Goggins formerly of Chattanooga, TN. He held a BA degree from Tennessee Temple University, an M.Div. degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a D.Min degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School. He has served as chaplain at Clover Bottom Developmental Center, Associate Pastor at Belle Meade United Methodist Church, Director of Pastoral Services at Vanderbilt University Hospital for 24 years, Senior Pastor at Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church, Associate Pastor at Forest Hills United Methodist Church and Senior Pastor at Hickory Bend United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23 at 4:00 p.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1250 Old Hickory Blvd., Brentwood, TN, with visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the church. The family would like to thank Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Alive Hospice for their care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Bend United Methodist Church Youth, Project Transformation of the TN Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church or Alive Hospice.
