Richard was born in Nashville, TN on December 18, 1952.

He was preceded in death by his mother Cora Virginia Cox.

Richard was a dedicated and loyal employee for 35 years to the Carl Zeiss Optical Company, formerly Cumberland Optical.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years; Wanda Cox, son; Matthew Brandon (Laura) Cox, daughter; Brandi Danielle Cox, & four grandchildren; Christopher, Madison, Zachary and Elizabeth.

The family will receive friends on Saturday April 5, 2014 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Mr. Cox's life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
