Richard Wayne Harris 69, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Richard was born in Madison, Tennessee on August 10, 1953. He is preceded in death by father Charles R. Harris, mother Gayle Harris, daughter Crystal Harris, and brother-in-law Larry Buckner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Cheryl Harris, daughters Chrissy (Joe) Harris and Rachiel (Lucas) Parker, bonus daughters Leann (Robert) Hraba, and Legina Chaudoin, grandchildren Brittney (Ryan) Whited, Geraden Hraba, Edward Hraba, Cy Chaudoin, Cole Chaudoin, Alexis (Carlton) Shoemake, Ava Smith and Adalynn Smith, great grandchildren Cora Whited and Ella Whited, siblings Elaine Harris Buckner, Cyndi (Steve) Wilson, and Bonnie (Derek) Latta, brother-in-law Gary (Christina) Stump, his beloved dog Caleb, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Richard will be fondly remembered as a fun loving, giving, and thoughtful man with the kindness of God. He was always the first to volunteer or to help someone in need, and was incredibly selfless, always reaching out and checking in with his family and friends or even strangers if he could assist them in anyway. He loved building, making drawings for Cheryl’s home projects, especially with Ivan, painting, boating with family, traveling with his wife, especially to Sanibel Island, where he loved hunting to find the perfect seashells. He was always there preparing behind the scenes with his attention for details for birthday dinners, gatherings, or holidays with family and friends, He was a Tennessee Titans fan, and a lover of all kinds of music, but most importantly he loved his family, always with his dog Caleb by his side and was always ready to help someone in need. He was greatly influenced by the leaders at his Church.
There will be a visitation held on Monday January 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM at Metro Baptist Church followed by a Funeral service at 10:30 AM also at Metro Baptist Church at 322 E Cedar St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville, TN 37221. Please send flowers to Harpeth Hills Funeral Home to be brought to the Church.
