Richard Allen Jolly, age 69, passed away May 25, 2019 after a battle with cancer. Although some may think he "lost his battle" to cancer, when he died, the cancer died - so technically it was a tie!
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ruth Jolly, and a brother, Eddie Jolly, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sherry Jolly; son, Richard Evans (Liz); brother Mark Jolly (Cindy); niece Katie Jolly; nephews David and Keith Jolly; and his beloved fur babies Lilly, Casper, and Wendy.
Richard graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1967. He received an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering from what was then known as Nashville State Technical Institute. He also served in the Army and fought in Vietnam. He spent his career working in the computer industry as an IT Manager.
When you first met Richard, he would be shy and reticent, but after about the third time you were around him, he would become a real Chatty Cathy and display his wonderful dry sense of humor. He was able to fix almost anything and would help others with their computer problems. Richard's sport was bowling, and he was great at it with three perfect 300 games.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations made to either Gilda's Club Middle TN, Nash. Humane Society, or the ACLU would be appreciated.
