Richard T. Nelson age 74 passed away on January 15, 2021. He was a lifelong Nashvillian and was born in Donelson, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Nelson and Vera Louise Travis. He is survived by his fiancée Marlies "Miki" Pleshaw, sons, Mike Nelson (Gina), Mark Nelson (Kelli), daughter, Monica Nelson Bright (Thomas), brother, Donald Nelson, Grandchildren, Amber Bright, Adam Bright, Summer Bright, Sydney Nelson, Emily Nelson and Lane Nelson and 9 great-grandchildren.
Richard was a retired Air Force Sr. Master Sergeant with the 118th Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard. He also loved to collect coins and Civil War Memorabilia.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday February 5, 2021 at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.
