Murfreesboro, TN - Richard Louis Phillips, 82 went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2019.

Richard was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 21, 1936, to the late Samuel and Grace Phillips. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a member of First Family Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Marcella Phillips; sister, Grace Hammond and brother, Samuel Phillips. Survivors include children, Alyson Phillips-Morgan (Gregory), Sheldon Phillips (Colleen), Steven Phillips, and Shantina Mitchell-Phillips; stepchildren, Phyllis Gray (Robert), Cornell Stevens, and Tamara Stevens; sister Geraldine McClendon; grandchildren, Aaron Donaldson-Stevens, Hali, Steven, LaDonna, Bree, Nathanial, Taylor, Troy Jr., Sanyah, Eric, Bryan, and Kalina. He is also survived by a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 16, 2019, from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy. 100, Nashville, TN 37221, 615-646-9292

A celebration of Richard's life will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy. 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
