Robert "Bob" Lewis Willis, born on March 24, 1945, in Rochester, NY, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Nashville, TN. Bob lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a commitment to those he cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Helen Willis, and his brother Richard "Dick" Willis.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth Willis; daughter Marjie (Mark) McKeown; granddaughters Sophia Rockwell and Kathryn Rockwell; brother Jim Willis; aunt Ann Lord; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

In his younger years, Bob began his career as a butcher before venturing into the restaurant business, long-distance truck driving, and later, auto sales. Most notably, he dedicated time as a caregiver for his beloved wife, Ruth, who he met in Addison, NY, where they later married on July 31, 1971. Their love story is a testament to the strong bond they shared over five decades.

Bob was an avid sports enthusiast throughout his life, enjoying baseball, basketball, and soccer in his youth. Known for his sharp skills, he was a pool shark who delighted in playing billiards and golf. His knack for tinkering around the house showcased his curiosity and desire to learn, always looking for ways to fix things and make life a little easier.

Education was important to Bob, who earned a business degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and later a degree in restaurant and hospitality management from Michigan State University. His dedication to lifelong learning was evident in his passion for reading, particularly Western novels, which he enjoyed.

Bob's engaging personality and wonderful sense of humor were attributes that endeared him to many. He was kind and compassionate, always ready to share a joke or lend a helping hand. His greatest joy came from his family. He took great pride in supporting his daughter Marjie in her sports endeavors and was always there for his granddaughters, Sophia and Katie, whom he adored and would do anything for.

Bob's life was rich with experiences, loving relationships, and unforgettable memories. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire those left behind.
