BROWN, Robert J. Sonny - Age 82, Nashville, June 12, 2012. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Willow Brown; sister, Freddie Lane Cloud; brother, Edgar Moore Brown; sisters-in-law, Roberta Landers and Valeria Brown; brother-in-law, Don Cloud. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Marie N. Brown; children, Patricia Brown Dishman Ben and Robert N. "Bobby" Brown Bethany; brothers-in-law, Rev. Bedford Landers Linda, Rev. Paul Landers and J.W. Landers Phyllis; nieces, Donna Hertha David, Melody Herrmann Fred, Carolyn McWilliams Jim, Linda Whaley, Paula Smith and Dawn Price Philip; nephews, David Brown, Jerry, Jeff, Tommy and Scott Landers; many special great nieces and nephews; great, great nieces and nephews and devoted cat, Callie Sue. Mr. Brown was a military veteran having joined the army out of high school . He enjoyed his work for the L & N Railroad in Nashville, working 44 years before retiring in 1992. Mr. Brown and his wife Marie enjoyed a full and rich retirement, traveling to many parts of the United States as well as cruising through the Panama Canal in South America to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Brown held a special fondness in his heart for children and all animals, enjoying many family pets throughout his life. He loved all sports, especially baseball and coached Little League in Nashville for many years. Mr. Brown "Robert" will be remembered for his love and support of family, especially his long-time partner in life Marie. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. A life celebration will be at 2:30pm on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
