BUTLER, Robert Leslie, "Jr." – Age 85 of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2012. Jr had a great sense of humor and was a man that never met a stranger. He loved the outdoors and all of God's Creatures. He was always watching the birds and feeding the squirrels around the house. He enjoyed farming and fishing on his pond. He served his country as a Paratrooper of the 101st Airborne in WW II. He retired in 1991 after 41 years of service as Greens Superintendant at Bluegrass Country Club. He was an avid Tennessee Vols and Titans Fan. Preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Leslie Butler; son, Michael Wayne Butler, Sr.; 5 brothers; 1 sister. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mamie E. Butler; children, Barbara T. Butler, Jane Butler Cravens Ralph, Bobby Joe Butler and Debra S. Butler; loving dog, Toby; brother, Comer Allen Butler; sisters, Betty Cunningham of Nashville and Peggy Kirk of Gallatin; 10 grandchildren, Tracy McCloud, Jason Oettel, Jennifer Green, Robbie Butler, Brian McCloud, Brittany Butler, Mandy Simmons, Mike Butler, Brandon Oettel and Mystica Amato; 9 great-grandchildren, Baron Oettel, Cooper Green, Carter Green, Benjamin Oettel, Katie Grace Butler, Kaleb Butler, Harper Butler, Justin Dickens, Jackson Simmons and Evelyn Oettel; several extended family members and friends. A Life Celebration will be held 11am Friday at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Graves officiating. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
