Is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Dean Cothron, Jr. on November 7, 2023, at the age of 56. He left this earth peacefully in Dickson, TN, surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was born on October 30, 1967, in Nashville, TN, where he spent his entire life. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert Cothron Sr., mother, Mary Watts Cothron and sister, Ann Mosley.

Survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Connie Cothron, children, Frances, and Bobby Christopher, siblings, David, Christy, Bill and Linda, nieces, Sarah, Abagail, Destiny, Beth, Jamie, Arianne and Tiffany, nephews, Daniel, John, Shane, Raymond, Josh, and Evan.

Robert had many passions in life that brought him immense joy. Football was more than just a game to him; it was his passion and an expression of his love for Alabama. As an avid fan and supporter of the team, he never missed a game and cheered them on with unwavering loyalty.

When Robert wasn't engrossed in the world of football, he could often be found working on cars. His knowledge of automobiles was unparalleled; there wasn't a thing he couldn't tell you about vehicles. His expert skills allowed him to fix any problem that came his way.


Music played a significant role in Robert's life as well. He loved singing and drumming out the rhythms of his favorite tunes. It was a common sight to see him air guitaring along to every beat in the car, his passion radiating through his every move. Robert's enthusiasm for music was infectious, spreading joy to everyone around him.

Robert also cherished the time he spent with his loyal companion, Max. Going on long walks together brought tranquility and a sense of peace to both. Their bond was unbreakable, and Max brought immeasurable happiness into Robert's life.

In addition to his hobbies, Robert had a zest for life that kept him always on the go. He strived to make his family happy, going above and beyond to ensure their well-being and happiness. His love for them shone brightly in everything he did.
Family meant everything to Robert, and he treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. His nurturing presence and unconditional love were constant pillars of support for his children and wife. Robert Cothron, Jr.'s departure has left an indelible void in our lives.

A visitation service will be held on Thursday November 30, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home located at 9090 highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
